Who is the Bargain Finder?
What is a bargain finder? What characteristics do they possess? How are they different from the average consumer? What do they do? Why do they do it? How do they do it? Where do they do it? Could you be one? The bargain finder is a bargain hunter or a bargain shopper who finds a bargain. Finding a bargain shopping is a choice for those who like frugal living, a necessity for people without a lot of money, and an addiction for others. Whatever the reason, it has become a way of life. ( I myself fall into the last two categories.) You like to find a bargain, don’t you? Really, what’s not to like about a $8,000 van for only $400? A $1,500 pickup truck for $50? Or a $300 antique for $1.00? The bargain finder, for whatever reason needs to find a bargain. They are a consumer who simply must get the best buy possible on any given item. They will go out of their way to find a bargain. This may involve shopping for bargains online, searching through pawn shops, surplus stores, dollar stores, consignment shops, thrift stores and/or antique shops. The bargain finder goes to estate sales, garage sales, swap meets, flea markets, farmers markets, and auctions. When our car needs a part we go to a salvage yard. When our car becomes junk we look for a cheap car at a used car auction. Cheap is not a derogatory word to us. Its money in the bank. Rather, “full retail price” is a phrase we shudder at. We seek quality and value at cheap prices. When we take a trip we seek cheap airfare. We read cheap books. Why pay $25 for a book when you can get it for $1.81? We shop clearance sales and rub shoulders with each other every year at 5 am on black Friday. Bargain news is good news. We seek bargain websites, online coupons, and online auctions. We search comparison shopping sites to compare bargain prices. We thrive on anything that is wholesale, liquidation stock, overstock, freight damaged, short date, dropship, or wholesale. Even wholesale dvd. All music to our ears. And talk about sales. We love all types of sales. Sample sales, moving sales, bankruptcy sales, going out of business sales, and grand opening sales. We enjoy saving money on closeouts, open box, and display units. We read bargain traders, auto traders, truck traders, and boat traders. If we’re not reading them, we’re reading classified ads online or the newspaper ads, bulletin boards, or auction flyers. Swap meets are marked on the calendar a year in advance. A bargain finder will go to auctions the first seven days of the week and to flea markets the second seven days of the week. Who really is the bargain finder? The little old lady quietly sifting through a table at a department store clearance sale. The teenage girl who takes the time to shop for bargain prices on name brand clothes. The oversized burly biker looking for the best buy on a leather jacket. The farmer in bib overalls and a John Deere cap getting the best deal at the livestock auction. The mothers who seek the best deal on baby clothes and children’s clothing. The young daughters who proudly show you their latest bargain shoes. The fathers who look at many used cars to find the best value for their sons and daughters. The students who seek value on items from backpacks to bargain laptops. The business men and women who seek bargain air fares. We are not the of the sort who scratch each others eyes out at closeouts. We don’t trample each other to death at grand openings. We smile at each other on black Friday knowing we each have a cart full of bargains. We huddle to keep warm in freezing temperatures at outdoor auctions. We share with others when we find a good deal. That is the purpose of this site. To help you, the bargain hunter, to become the bargain finder. My philosophy is, “ So many bargain finders, so little time.” Lets keep hunting. “Pick and click” on another bargain source. I’ll see you there my friend.
